Karara Mining Limited is a joint venture between Gindalbie Metals Limited and AnSteel, one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.
With an expected mine life of 30+ years, it will underpin a long-term iron ore business and provide sustainable benefits to the regional community in which we operate. The operation includes a large open pit mine, complex ore processing and beneficiation plant and significant infrastructure and logistics networks.
We are looking for an Offshore Reporting Analyst to join the Finance team based in the Perth head office. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the Analyst is responsible for providing an efficient centralised reporting mechanism for all Ansteel (China) and other international stakeholder reporting and analysis. The Analyst will be required to collate and distribute regular scheduled and adhoc reports to all international stakeholders including Ansteel group and its subsidiaries, International Audit Offices (internal and external), Banks, and various Chinese regulatory bodies.
Key responsibilities:
- Collation and distribution of month end reporting packs for Ansteel
- State Owned Asset Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council (SASAC) reporting
- Chinese statutory accounts
- Management of the Chinese external audit process
- Responding to Chinese bank’s requests for information
- Management of Chinese adhoc internal and external audits.
- Compilation of non-financial information for external Chinese stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Tertiary qualification in Finance or related field
Key Requirements:
- Fluent in written & oral Mandarin
- Strong MS Excel & MS Office skills
- Previous experience in resources and/or steel making industries advantageous
- Solid Finance background
- Able to progress multiple competing initiatives
- Sound organisational skills
- Comfortable with managing bulk data (both financial and non-financial)
